St. Wilfrid’s is one of five local schools that have a partner school in Tanzania, East Africa. We are linked with Kidia Primary, which has an amazing setting on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Mr Rudd and Mrs Lee have had many happy and interesting visits over the last few years.
The headteacher of Kidia school is called Mr. Wilfred. This year when we went to Tanzania, we were looking at his fabulous artwork. We also joined in with drumming and dancing. Our African friends had also arranged a visit to a local batik artist and a local hospital, which were very interesting. The links between the schools are very strong and Mr Wilfred and his colleagues also visit us. The children really enjoy meeting him.
Whilst in Moshi, we have also made links with a group of deaf and disadvantaged people led by a lovely lady called Cocaya. They do fabulous handicraft work. We also made a link with the Kilimanjaro Orphanage.
Below are some photographs of Mr Rudd’s and Mrs Lee’s visits to Tanzania.
